Drop-side cribs will soon be banned in New York state, after Governor David Paterson signed a bill yesterday that bans the sale, import, manufacture and distribution of those cribs throughout the state.
The law takes effect in October.
The cribs have been linked to multiple child deaths and injuries, and more than nine million have been recalled nationwide.

The firm that tried to block selection of an Aqueduct Race Track gaming operator won't decide until Monday whether to seek an appeal.
Aqueduct Entertainment Co. had sought an injunction against the state Lottery Division's review of one remaining bidder — Genting New York LLC.
AEC wanted to go to trial, where it planned to show why it should be awarded the contract to run Aqueduct's 4,500 video lottery terminals.
